Oğuz Yalım, will be giving a talk about his ongoing solo exhibition titled "what if" at the Summart Art Center in Istanbul. The talk will be held concurrently with the exhibition and will take place at Ka x Assembly in Ankara on April 7th, 2023. The exhibition itself will be on display at the Summart Art Center from March 16th to April 19th, 2023, and is open for public viewing.

The “What If” exhibition, invites us to places we have never looked at before. In daily life, maybe to facilitate it for ourselves, we lock ourselves in a narrow mind. We throw away the excess and keep the less. However, this healing act causes us to lose the abundance in our lives and makes us poor. We move away from ourselves and we become unable to find ourselves in our own lives. Oğuz Yalım makes us curious again with these paintings; he clears the way for us to crack open the doors we ignore with automatic looks, dream about dreams we do not care about, be aware of the opportunities that we pay no mind to, see the possibilities we turn our backs to… - Gülüş Türkmen

We could say that the “What if” exhibition is one of an abundance of changes and a way of questioning and exploring our potential. I start my journey with the following sentence, a sentence which is almost the foundation of my artistic life;

“In this world of infinite possibilities and variables, everything is subjective. As new elements emerge relationships change.” - Oğuz Yalım

1993 Bilkent University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Since 1996 he continues his Professional life in ARTFUL Interior Architecture and Product Design firm which is owned by him and his partner and wife Ece Yalım. Beginning from 2017 he teaches part time at Baskent University Department of Interior Architecture and from 2021 at TED University Department of Interior Architecture.

Again beginning from 2017 he is focused on Painting works which he continues to do correspondingly with

his Professional life. All of his experience accumulated for 25 years are in accordance with his observation and hobbies, he continues to work on different topics.
