In the eighth of the artist readings at Ka x Assembly One Tower this Friday, academician researcher Erdem Çolak and researcher Alaz Okudan will give a reading on David Hockney. Hockney redesigns the action of instant photography and produces experimental photographic compositions by examining the concepts of perspective, movement, and time.
David Hockney’s photo collages offer practical examples of phenomena such as time and movement, which are traditionally discussed through motion pictures. In the early 1980s, by re-purposing the act of snap shooting, Hockney made hundreds of still-image compositions where he experimented with the notions of perspective, movement, and time. This talk invites you to explore Hockney's thought-provoking photographic oeuvre in the context of his longstanding painting practice.
