Ayşe İnan will be at Ka on June 9th, presenting her first extensive solo exhibition in Ankara. This exhibition invites us into the enchanting realm of children's books, where we will have the opportunity to explore the diverse depths of Ayşe İnan's creations. Alongside the original drawings, there will be drafts, plans, and captivating stories on display. The countdown has started for a vibrant and optimistic gathering, as we bid farewell to the current season and eagerly welcome summer. Make sure not to miss out on this extraordinary event!

A long, unique, and enchanting journey through the memories captured in children's books has deeply touched my soul. Like everyone else, my childhood holds the key to understanding the path I have taken so far. The things I draw evoke the vibrant emotions and pure enthusiasm I experienced during those innocent and fresh moments.

The encounters that seemed like miracles during our childhood, the endless games, the habitats of different creatures, the gardens, the unique plants, and the animals - all these wonderful experiences enriched our souls and expanded our perception of time. Similarly, the places where migrating animals find shelter during their journeys offer us a sense of exploration and discovery. As we grew older and started reading books, our world expanded even further, and we found new paths to explore.

Learning to read words enabled our memory to make connections based on visual cues. Children's picture books provide us with boundless freedom and I always feel like I'm rediscovering myself in their captivating world. Drawing, I believe, is one of the most beautiful, direct, and authentic ways to convey these experiences. Through drawing, I can access the transformative worlds of children and get carried away by the multi-dimensional melodies of children's picture books.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 10 am to 7 pm every day except for Sundays and Mondays, and will kick off with a special opening event on Saturday, June 10th at 6 pm.

Ayşe İnan

Ayşe İnan graduated from the Graphics Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe University in 1994. She is living and working in Ankara. She has worked on cartoons, illustrations, and graphic design for numerous newspapers, magazines, and publishing houses. She has also participated in group exhibitions both in her home country and abroad. Ayşe İnan is an awarded illustrator, and her work has been published in multiple languages, particularly in children's books.
