The founders of Urbanwalks.ankara continuing its city walks in cooperation with Ka Atölye, Cem & Cemre, are inviting you to a new event series with great happiness.

“We will discuss the urban space that we have experienced on foot till today, through various historical layers of the city, and its important actors and concepts. With our guests who will join us at every event, we will try to discover the built environment and its contributors together, by keeping you on the edge of the seats.

We will host Onur Atay from Urban.koop in our fourth talk. Apart from his independent productions, we will ask him questions about the possibility of an emancipating, horizontal and local-based organization, based on his experiences in many community works inside and outside the country. In doing so, we will talk at length about the devastating process that our built environment and all of us have been going through lately.

Onur Atay

Works on urban innovation and cultural development. Completed his architectural education at METU in 2010 and his master's thesis on urban history and visual culture at Boğaziçi University in 2018. Focusing on the areas where creative disciplines intersect with social benefit, Onur has been involved in national and international projects at different points in the public, civil and private sectors for more than ten years. Currently, he develops public and participatory projects within Urban.koop, of which he is a founding member, and provides consultancy in civil and private projects in the field of cultural development.
